In this intimate, visceral documentary about the female experience of war, Syrian journalist Waad Al-Kateab faces an impossible decision: Should she flee the war-torn city of Aleppo to protect her young daughter’s life, even though this means abandoning the struggle for Syria’s freedom for which she has already sacrificed so much?

What we Think: Combining her personal story with the Syrian people's desperate struggle for freedom, this bold filmmaker provides a raw, mind-blowing, and incredibly honest portrayal of the horrific bloodshed in Syria. A must see documentary which was selected for a special screening at the Cannes Film Festival.
